Transporte público opera com frota 100% renovada
Os novos ônibus atendem às linhas operadas pelas empresas Piracicabana e Pioneira. Na Área 1, circulam 531 veículos, inclusive os 93 recém-chegados e seis elétricos, operando no Plano Piloto, Sobradinho, Planaltina, Cruzeiro, Sobradinho 2, Lago Norte, Sudoeste/Octogonal, Varjão e Fercal.
Na Área 2, que recebeu 95 ônibus novos nos últimos dias, circulam 625 veículos nas localidades de Itapoã, Paranoá, Jardim Botânico, Lago Sul, Candangolândia, Park Way, Santa Maria, São Sebastião e Gama.
Os novos veículos dispõem de tecnologia moderna que oferece mais conforto e segurança aos usuários, além de melhorar a qualidade de vida dos rodoviários. São ônibus com motor silencioso com baixa emissão de poluentes, portas elétricas e acessibilidade por meio de elevadores automáticos.
A renovação dos veículos no DF está ocorrendo de forma gradativa, de acordo com a idade e o tipo de veículo, conforme previsto em regulamento. Miniônibus e ônibus básicos são renovados a cada sete anos; veículos das categorias Padron e articulados, a cada dez anos.
